Hi, I'll be making my first cookie bouquet tonight, I was wondering, what do you usually put inside the basket to insert the cookies? I bought Styrofoam and cut it to the size of the bottom of the basket.
I was also wondering how to transfer the cookies to the Bazaar!! I'm afraid that the cookies would fall from the stick or get broken on the way. I thought of assembling the bouquets at the bazaar, but there is not time, I barely have 30 minutes to arrange my table and set the bouquets on it.
Can anybody advise me about what to do?
Thanks a lot in advance.

I use styrofoam cut to fit, and I just put my bouquets in a plastic tote, and put a towel around them, Make sure there is no room for them to slide in the tote, and I think you will be fine. I deliver them like this all the time.

Put them in boxes and pack crumpled newspaper or towels or something to keep them from tipping over.

Sorry I'm having a brain fart and can't remember the name of it, but it's the stuff you can buy on a roll by the contact paper (shelf liner). It's non skid; I put it under my cakes when I take them to class.

I use florist foam in my containers, and for transporting, I have different size rubbermaid bins, with high sides. I use towels to pack them tight if there is extra moving space.

I use the green styrofoam instead of the white because it holds the sticks better, IMO. You should be able to go ahead and assemble your bouquets at home and transport ready to sell. Just make sure to pack them snuggly in a box or container so they can not turn over or move around to much.

When you put the sticks in the cookie, be sure the stick is centered as well as possible (and nice and snug), so there is lots of cookie around the stick to "grab hold" of the stick. If your stick is too close to the front or back, there is a higher tendancy for the cookie to slide or fall off of the stick.

I agree with Teekakes, that the green styrofoam holds a little tighter. Also, I bake my cookies with the sticks in them. I've never had a problem with them breaking, being top heavy, or spinning, no matter how much icing is added at the end. (check out my photos for the size of the egg I use and the amount of icing on them) As for transport, I use copy paper boxes, and if its not a real tight fit, make sure to stuff the empty space with newsprint, blankets, anything to keep them from shifting.
