I was fishing for something clear.. maybe resembling ice ... I have thought if I couldnt figure it out like that, I could try dusting b/c or fondant with either the dust or the edible glitter.

Gelatin? You know, the unflavored Knox blox? I am at a loss of other ideas...

Gelatin sounds interesting! I might give it a trial run. Thanx so much.

Rock sugar, we use them to sweeten tea in Germany you can get big lumps of that in Asian stores as they use it for sweet deserts

You could make hard candy (water, corn syrup, sugar) and first make little squares on a silicone mat and then glue them together with the hot syrup.

I'm sure if you search the internet, you will be able to find directions on how to make hard candy.

It might be a little more work than what you were looking to do.

I would check with one of the local candy shops. They usually have the rock candy. We have Dillan's here and I know they carry it.

A silicone ice cube tray will do the trick. Here is a link to a website I found. They have a link on top of the page for where to buy, so you can go to that section and see which store is closest to you.

Why not use rock candy? Should be able to find a candy store.

I was going to suggest doing the poured or boiled sugar in the silicone ice cube tray as well. Here is a recipe for boiled sugar from the Food Network:

Theresa great minds think alike. I just ordered these from that company, or rather a link to Amazon from SiliconeZone. I am going to try the sugar beer bottles this year and will make the ice cubes of cooked sugar syrup in these silicone trays.

well thinking of the easy way out- how about melting some jolly ranchers? I am preety sure that they make a blue colored one and if it to dark you can always add a white one to the mix and make you ice cubes that way. Just a thought.
