I was looking at Earlene's serving chart and I don't know what to do icon_confused.gif I have to make a two-tiered, round cake to serve 50. I had originally told the woman I would do a 10 inch and an 8 inch, but now I'm thinking (and I read on here) that tiers should have at least a 3 inch-difference...so what two sizes would you recommend to feed 50??

Do you have odd-sized pans? I would use an 11" and 8". That's exactly 50 per Earlene's chart, which I like very much.

thanks everyone! I don't have an 11 inch pan, so I was thinking 10 and 8. I thought it might look a little odd, but if you say it won't, I'll go with it thumbs_up.gif

I think it is just preference on the difference in tier sizes. The Dora cake in my photos is an 8" and a 6". The Diego one is a 10" and a 6". I prefer the 4" difference since it gives more decorating space between the layers, but I think both are fine!
