Okay, so I've been sick the last few days and have not been able to make MMF. Now I am being resigned to using Wilton's fondant. I know that most people don't even eat the fondant but I want to at least make it taste somewhat good.

What can I do to give it an appetizing taste? I'm thinking about kneading some almond flavoring into it.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

Thanks so much!

It has been my experience that no matter what you do to the Wilton fondant it doesn't help the best thing is to leave it natural and make it thin and put a hearty portion of buttercream under it . I found that then it was at least tolerable.
Sweet but tolerable.

Good luck.

Funny you mention the buttercream be used like that. That's exactly the first thing I thought of doing. I really wish I had time to make the MMF but there's just no way! Most people peel it away anyway so I agree with you....roll it thin.

Thank you!

Is there a supplier near you that sells fondant other than Wilton's? I've heard (from this site) that Satin Ice is good.

Good luck!

Unfortunately no! My sister has satin ice and "Oh yum!" I wish I could get it here. I'd have to order it online!
