I just finished my first covered cake! Really happy with how it turned out. Will upload a photo to my gallery shortly.
The Tweety candle was already bought so I had to design around that. It's chocolate mudcake with chocolate buttercream underneath the fondant as she's a chocoholic. Does the chocolate colour soak through the top layer of icing? Guess I'll find out by tomorrow.

i just checked it out and it looks great! very cute! (i left you a comment too!) i love the little flowers and the letters! and the feathers too!

i don't think you should have to worry about the buttercream bleeding through. if the fondant is thick enough, it should hold it all in.

Adorable cake!! The ribbon around the bottom could hide some mistakes--not that you made any, just an idea for me. icon_lol.gif What cutters did you use for the letters? I like the style!

Thanks! The cutters are from a kids playdough set (a fraction of the price of fancy cake decorating stores). It's by Fisher Price if you want to look for it. I'm in New Zealand so not sure what you have in your corner of the world.
