I'm making a cake this weekend and was wondering what kinds of flavors I could add to a white cake mix.
I was thinking of subbing some of the liquid for Maraschino cherry juice.....has anyone tried this? Now that I'm thinking about it, it sounds like it could be too sweet. I really want to try something different though, and don't know what kind of extracts are available at my grocery store.

I'm making one this weekend: white box mix, adding white chocolate pudding mix and French vanilla coffee cream instead of water or milk. Will probably use canned cherry pie filling. This sounds pretty sweet, but it's for the kids on Easter. Will freeze the cakes until needed.
What about orange extract with mandarin oranges in the filling? Just a thought!
