Help! icon_sad.gif I have for years use the pre made Choco pan fondant. I can easily store what is not used back in the bucket or in zip type bags for use next time. I just recently discovered the wonderful flavor of MMF, but I have incountered problems. I have been storing the MMF in zip bags coated with shortening to keep it from drying, which works. The problem is, even a batch that is only a week old and never colored, seems to crack when rolled out. I heat it in the microwave and add shortening, but it never is the same as the first time. I think it is breaking down. Anyone have suggestions, they will surely be appreciated. icon_biggrin.gif

Sorry, I can't help with your question. icon_sad.gif

However, I did find some faux Choco-Pan fondant recipes:

Hopefully, this bump will allow someone to jump in and answer your question. icon_smile.gif

Hi Kyleen!! I love MMF too=) I can store my white or colored fondant and have it perfectly fine. I have fondant right now that I pulled out yesterday to make a flower and was perfect to use. I store mine by putting on a nice coat of crisco on the fondant, then wrapping it with suran wrap, then put that into a zip-loc bag, then into an air tight container(Tupperware). Then I store it in my basement, which is always a bit cooler and darker. Then when I am ready to use it, I pull the color MMF out that I want to use, rub it lightly with crisco. Then I nuke it at 5 second intervals until it is at a workable temp. This has worked great for me and my MMF is just as easy to use over a month later as it is when I first made it=) HTH some, Jen

thank your for your suggestions. I think I may be heating it up too much or when rolling it out, working in too much power sugar. I will keep at it. Thanks again, Kyleen icon_biggrin.gif

I have noticed recently that the last three times I bought Jet Puffed Marshmallow Creme the experation date isn't long. For instance, I bought some last week and it expires in May. I have been noticing this for several months now. Last summer when I bought some the expiration date was at least 5 or 6 months out.

I got a foodsaver for Christmas and have been storing my MMF in those vacuum-sucked bags. They certainly stay fresh!
