I have seen several cakes with a 3d name or monogram, I think they are made out of Royal icing. I am doing 10 6" cakes for a 25th anniversay for a thearte group and need to know how to do these and if anyone has pictures or know of someone on CC that has them in their gallery, I would ove to see them!

I have seen this technique on cakes in the lst several weeks, but of course I did not save them and now every search I do somes up with nothing!

PLEASE HELP!!!! icon_cry.gif

I did this out of chocolate candy melts. Here is a pic. I just melted the chocolate and piped it onto waxed paper. I piped a base, about an inch tall, onto the letters so I would be able to stick it into the cake and have it stand up. You could do exactly the same technique using royal icing.

I use Patchwork cutters or I cut a piece of fondant stamp it with a rubber stamp and place it on the cake and just pipe a little border around it. After that I luster dust it or paint it. I think Cakes By Sam has some examples on her site.

If you look in the Birthday Gallery there is a cake called "Winter Wonderland". I would try to attach it but I am clueless about doing that.

Adven68,

OHMYGOSH!!!!!!!! Look at your cakes!!! They are freakin gorgeous!!!!

I am doing the stand up phrases this weekend for a bridal shower. I don't plan to place them on the cake but I want them scattered around on the cake table.
