Just wondering how you all bake cakes in this pan. What temp. and for how long? Mine always seems to turn out kinda hard on top, and dry.. even though the toothpick doesn't come out clean. I'm just wondering what your best results were with this pan.

Hopefully you'll get some more specific answers, but here's mine...I have done the wonder mold several times, and I always bake at 350. I'm not sure on the bake time...I have a temperamental oven, so I just keep checking until the toothpick comes out clean (35-40 min? maybe longer?).

The top always gets brown/crusty, but I level off that part anyway, so I don't think it's really a problem. You can also lay a sheet of foil over the top to prevent more browning towards the end of baking, if the insides aren't done yet.

I've done the wonder mold and the 3D bear and the car. they all get brown/crusty, but like StaceyC3 said you leavel that on the mold and the car and the bottom of the bear.

I bake mine at 350 for about 40 min. I also use a pound cake. mine have alway come out moist...so I just take DH cake mix and add a box of instant pudding, 4 eggs, 1 cup water, and 1/3 cup of oil. that's how I make my pound cake. Don't know if this helps. Hope it does.

I have done tht mold several times also but I do bake it at 325. Mine always stays in the oven for really long time...more than 1 hour.
Mine is also a little crusty, but I also leavel it. that is not a problem.

StaceyC3 , thanks for the foil tip!

I just used it yesterday for the first time.....Baked 325.......Lost track of timing but well over 1 hour..Also used a piece of foil over top after the hour......Was brown and crusty but levelled it out and tasted good...mmmm scraps....

I am making a large hill on a cake...

I used WASC recipe form here.
