I'm trying to paint on some fondant with americolor gel colors diluted with vodka.

I'm brushing it onto the fondant using a new clean artists paintbrush. It's coming out streaky.

What am I doing wrong?

Yeppers Projectqueen, that is why I purchased an airbrush and love, love, love it.

I don't have an airbrush, but I think even that would not help in this case. I'm making a stained glass and it has small sections next to each other that each need to be a different color.

I'd say make your mixture a little thicker. Short strokes, try not to cover too large an area at once. Don't backtrack over what you've already painted, let it dry thoroughly and then do a second coat or touch-ups if necessary.

Sometimes you need two coats.

Thanks thumbs_up.gif I was afraid I messed up by diluting the color, but it looked too dark by itself.

I'll go do a second coat.
