I have 9 inch round pans and two 7 3/4 inch oval pans. I've heard that you can make a bunny with a bow tie with just two 9" pans. How do you do that? I was thinking I could use my oval pans for ears, but they are not pointy enough. I am very much a beginner but would like to make a bunny cake for easter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My mom has made this for years. You use one round for the face, then cut the ears out of the other. Cut one ear shape from each side, and you will be left with a bow tie shape.
I hope I explained that well enough...there are some pics in the gallery done like this.

My husband has made this before and it turned out really cute. You use one round cake for the face, then take your cake pan and place it on top of the other round cake only covering about 1/3 of the cake. You should see that if you were to trace around the cake pan it would leave you with a shape like a bunny ear. Then lay the cake pan on the other side of the cake and trace around it to get the shape of the other bunny ear. The cake that is left in the middle after cutting your bunny ears out (the section between the bunny ears) is the shape of the bow tie! You can then decorate it anyway you want. Does this make sense to you???

Okay, thanks that makes perfect sense. Can't wait to try it.
