Help Plz. Need Chocolate Whipped Cream For Basketweave
Baking By jlfreedman Updated 1 Aug 2006 , 3:18am by cheftaz
I'm looking for a recipe for chocolate whipped cream that I can use for frosting the cake and making a basketweave around the sides. Anyone got one? TIA!
There's a recipe on this site; go to:
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-2041-0-Chocolate-Whipped-Cream.html
Is the recipe from this site stable enough for basketweave? I've never done it in whipped cream before so I'm a little nervous. As for the Bettercream, there isn't anywhere around here to buy it.
Thanks!
I don't know where you live. But in the western states, the equilivent of Bettercream is Frosting Pride and Pastry Pride. I get mine at Smart and Final. Also, you might try Baking 911 on the net to come up with a recipe.
Yes, it has to be chocolate whipped cream. This was the brides request. Any idea how much piping gel to add to make the icing more stable?
I would recommend you go to baking911.com as fearlessbaker suggested. There is a recipe for whipped chocolate ganache that can be used for piping & making decorations. She walks you through the steps to make sure the icing is the correct consistency to decorate with. Here's a link to one of the pages on the choc. ganache: http://baking911.com/recipes/chocolate/ganache.htm
Well, I definitely didn't enjoy this one. I found the whipped cream to be very hard to work with. Maybe I did something wrong but I'm going to try my hardest to avoid it in the future.
