I have been asked to make a cake for a mother/daughter tea on mother's day weekend. The theme is All Creatures Great and Small. Anyone have any ideas?

MicKindle -

The first thought that comes to mind with the theme is Noah's Ark - not sure if the event is Christian-oriented. Another thought would be to do a jungle theme... some big animals (tigers, elephants, etc) and then small ones (snakes, spiders, etc.). It could be cute with the right spin. And now my stream of conciousness is going to doing a Madagascar theme - that would definately cover the gamut of different sized animals (include the Lemurs for the small sized animals), though not sure if it's age appropriate.

So, that's just some thoughts quickly thrown out there...

My first thought was a cute cheese shaped cake with a little mouse. I also thought perhaps a lion and a mouse...you know the story with the thorn. Even a stand up lamb would be nice....Just thinking aloud...

Thanks for the help. This is a hard theme. I am hoping to get some inspiration from the decorating committee.
