Hi- I just made these cute MMF babies for a shower cake and then remembered reading that MMF covered cakes don't do well in the frig. My cake is frosted in buttercream, I just worried about the babies.

They've dried for three days. My plan is to place them on right before customer comes to pick it up, securing them with buttercream, etc. However, she'll need to refrigerate the cake overnight.

Will they survive? If not, I may have to go to Plan B, which means she will have to place the babies on just before the shower.

Anyone out there refrigerated MMF figures before? Please help :O) !!! Thanks!!

--by the way, i have a very similar cake posted in my photos if you need to see what i mean (wilton's design)

If you leave the figurines on the buttercream cake, they may become soft (they could absorb moisture from the frosting). If you would feel better about it, I would gently pack the figurines up in a nice sturdy container with paper towel and cotton balls and have the customer put them on the cake (show her exact placement so she can't say the cake didn't look good)
