Anyone have any ideas on how to do something like this? I need it for a grooms cake coming up in a couple of months. TIA

I would carve it from an oval cake pan, or maybe even an animal pan (sheep or dog, to get the height difference). Maybe try to post in the "how do I" section too.

Also, fondant, and maybe gumpaste for the very top to keep it sturdy.

I think you could definetly carve this out! I would actually make a template for the bottom portion of the boot first. (to get the shape you want) then, add more cake on top of that with some bc to sculpt it a little. Then you get what shape and height you want and cover that with fondant! This is a very cool idea! why the boot though?
Good luck! icon_biggrin.gif

It's for a grooms cake. Apparently, the groom loves to hike. Thanks so much for your help!!!!
