Ok I don't know if this has been asked before.. but don't shoot me if is has. icon_redface.gif I froze my buttercream to use later and was wondering what the best way to thaw it. Do I leave it in the container and defrost in the fridge? Do I take it out of the container and thaw on the counter or leave in in container and thaw on counter?

Thanks

Leave the frozen BC in the container, and defrost slowly. Works like a charm.

don't try to use the microwave on the defrost setting! I tried that and 15 seconds later I had buttercream soup icon_redface.gif

I freeze mine in individual ziplock freezer bags and keep them in a large tupperware container. When I need to thaw some out, I take out what I need and set it on the counter until it's squishy enough to work with.

Leave in container and thaw on counter. You might want to re-whip it when it has thawed to make it fluffy again.
