Anyone know of an unknown hotel in Dover, Deleware that isn't booked for June 4th when the race is going on? We decided kind of late to go and the people at te hotels are laughing at me when I call.......lol icon_mad.gif

I go to Dover all the time. I'm about 45 minutes away. Been to the races a few times. Try getting a hotel in another area. Try MD. Denton (about 45 minutes), Easton( about 1 hour), Chestertown (about 1 hour). Maybe try going south on Rt. 13 or 113 and try Milford, DE or Seaford, DE. North of Dover is Smyrna. I'd like to give you more possiblities, but this isn't a heavily poplulated area, so the towns that I gave you have a hotel or two. I do know that others stay in Easton and Denton for the races. If you need hotel names for the MD towns, PM me and I'll get #'s for you also. icon_wink.gif

My hubby didn't want to drive far....I found a room at the Dover Budget Inn. I have a feeling it is going to be a dump but I only need to sleep there one night. I can always bring my own sheets and lysol........lol. My hubby wanted to be able to walk to the race from where we are staying. Must be that he planns on getting really trashed that day. Anyone know what the weather is like that time of year? The same as it is here in NY?

The times we've been to the race in June it's HOT!! 80's and humid. It's humid in MD and DE. I can't wait for the cars to move, because that's the only way we get air. I've never needed a sweatshirt while in the stands, but you might need one getting there in the morning. I've never been to any part of NY, so I can't help you with acomparison.

I'm trying to picture the Budget Inn, but I can't, so I can't tell you what the outside looks like. But you can't judge a book by it's cover, so that's not alot of help either. I guess in NY you don't have to drive far for anything. For us, 45 minutes is nothing.

I don't live in NY City or anything...I live in Central NY. I am just really geographically challenged and didn't want to end up driving us lost......lol. We went to the Pepsi 400 in 2000 and stayed about 10 -15 minutes away from the track with family and it took us an hour to get there.....I know I won't want to deal with that. After I booked the hotel I saw some reviews on it and they are all bad but like I said I only need to stay there for one night it's not like we are staying for a week or anything
