My husband forwarded me this link and asked if we could make it. After being grossed out at the thought of a "meatloaf cake", I had to respond that actual cake, not meatloaf, was more my medium icon_smile.gif

Now that I think about it, it might actually be a fun project to try with my DH!

OMG! I saw that, too!! My barbecue friend emailed me that! She said her dh would do the meat if I'd decorate it... I think we'll probably try it sometime.

My 6 yr old daughter and I did this and fed it to the family for dinner on April 1st as an April Fool's joke..."cake for dinner???!" My 3 yr old asked. Very fun to do, we used cooked peas as "dragees" and she helped pipe a shell border and some stars on top.

I saw an episode of Surreal Gourmet & he did a baseball version using meatballs. He coated them with mashed potatoes and then used really thin strips of roasted red peppers for the stitches.

my DH would appreciate one of those. He's a real meat man and doesn't care for cake at all.

How funny I took a look and thought it was a cake then came back to read the posts and noticed it was NOT a cake. So I took another look!

I think it would be fun to make but I would hate to be served that thinking I was getting a yummy cake and then it was meatloaf! YUCK.

Wow! I was grossed out at first, but after I read what it contained, it actually didn't sound half bad! What a great alternative for a guy!

I think it would be fun to do this for dinner and have a dessert that looked like dinner ie, spaghetti cake or something like that! It would be so fun to take to a potluck!

haha, i just pictured being at a function and having people cut into the meat cake thinking they were getting cake, then dipping into spaghetti thinking they were getting cake. how weird that would be for someone who wasnt expecting it. they would probly be scared to cut into anything else, not knowing what is actually was. cute!

my husband is out of town this week, so i will have to make this for dinner the night he comes back home. i'll make a "welcome Home" meat cake (and he hates cake) so it will be even more hilarious, espically when he realizes i made no dinner!!

thanks for the link thumbs_up.gif

....now i have to find a really good meatloaf recipe icon_rolleyes.gif .....

There is also a cake on CC (by colls) that looks like a carton of ice cream!
