I don't think this may be in the correct forum but I was not sure where to put it. I have a white cake mix and was going to try something different by adding butterscotch pudding with the extra eggs. My problem is that stupid me picked up the cook and serve and not the instant. Will this make a dirrerence or will it be OK to use?

This reply may be too late, but I was just reading an old What's Cooking magazine by Kraft, and they say that if you are adding the pudding to a mix, you cannot substitute cook and serve for instant.
I am sure you have already made the cake, I didn't know the answer myself until I read it today!!!

I have also read that you cannot interchange "instant" and "cook and serve". With that being said, I have read where some have used either and things worked out fine.

Here is a link that refers to using instant or cook & serve pudding. I hope this is helpful.
