ok i need some help with something. i've been using the durable cake receipe found on here and absolutely love the taste and moistness and how durable it is. my question is i'd like to also extend the receipe somehow. i have to do a wedding cake in a few weeks and boy does one mix add up. i saw the extender recipe on here and noticed it is different than the durable cake receipe. is there anyway to combine the two? or another way? does anyone know have any suggestions? thanks.
Don't know if you can add two extenders to one cake mix - it seems to be stretching it a bit...
You could add the extender recipe (w/sour cream) to your cake mix:

The extra sugar and flour should extend each cake mix by about 2+ cups.
HTH
is the extender receipe really moist? the other one has pudding also, don't really know if that makes a major difference or not. i guess i just wanted to see if i could add more sour cream, pudding, flour and whatever else to the box mix to make it just as good as the durable receipe, just more of it.
