Hello everyone. I need your help. I am new at cake decorating and I find myself often underpricing my cakes. This is a cake I made for my niece's birthday party it has (2) 8" and (1) 10" cake filled with strawberry filling and BC icing. The cake is covered in MF. The pink roses are made out of bubble gum. How much should I charge for this cake. I don't know where to begin.

Depending on how long it took you to decorate it - I would charge $80-90 dollars. Our 8 in round DL is $30 and 10 in DL is $40 -$10 extra for fondant. I always say when quoting a carved or more complicated cake I have never made before - "It should be $80 but if it takes more fondant to cover and do the decorations than I thought it would - it may be $10 more dollars, that is just my cost. That way if the cake is being a bugger/difficult than I can add $10 for my time.

Hope this helps!

I would charge about $75 for that cake. However, if it were for my neice it would be free.

Thank you for your advice. I will take everything into consideration. The cake was free for my niece after making the cake for her I started receiving a lot of offers and I didn't know how to begin with pricing the cake.

It's a cute cake! I'm sure your niece loved it.

I would charge about $65-$75 for that cake.
