curious if anyone has actually ordered or read this ebook. I'm curious, but I never order anything online when it comes advertised this way.

Have any of you ordered this or heard of it?

I don't know how it could be anything other than basic information. Every state has different laws and most counties within a state have different interpretations of the laws. Unless they have a breakdown state by state / county by county then they can't really help you regarding what your area allows. I'd imagine it would be helpful only if you already know if you're allowed to have a home bakery and if you know the regulations for your area. Just a guess, though, as I have never seen it.

I think the recipes portion would be nice....hmmm will have to think about ordering it. I just ordered all of my husband's graduation announcements and stuff for him, so not sure if I can do it this week.

I looked at that web site, and it doesn't seem to me that that book could possibly have anything in it that you couldn't learn here at CC for free. As already noted, every state's regulations are different, and most don't allow "home" bakeries at all (not counting separate kitchens, which is simply not feasible for many people). I'm also skeptical about the source of the "600 recipes" and Wedding Cake Design Gallery. Wasn't there a vendor on ebay selling CD's full of pictures of other people's cakes? Where did the recipes and pictures come from?

A search of the business forum will give you answers to all those issues raised on that web page.

I agree with Kelley...most regulations for each state are somewhere on a government website free to look up...and there are tons of recipes on this site and others...and this website has more great photos in one place than any other place I've found. I can almost always find an idea here on CC. I wouldn't buy anything like that.

It looks like the same E-Book I purchased on E-Bay but I only paid a couple of dollars for it and no shipping because you download it.

I would try there first. I think you can just type E-book

The 'ANYONE can do this', is very misleading - while cake decorating as a hobby can be done by anyone, not EVERYONE could do this as a business - it's tough and not the piece of cake this description makes it out to be (if you'll pardon the pun!).

I have it.

It's very basic information. Can't really help you on a legal standpoint.

It talks about marketing, advertising. It's more of a guide. It has recipes and that sort of thing.

Del Carnes book on "How to make money in cake decorating was much better". Hard to find now since it's out of print.
