What do you use for cake boards?? I usually just cover the wilton cardboard cake circles, but if you do a larger cake, or want it to look mor professional--what do you use and where do you get them...Thanks!

I had my dad cut me some masonite boards in different sizes. I have also cut some foamcore in different sizes. Just put your name, address and phone on the bottom to be returned. This way you get all the sizes and shapes you want! Square cake boards are hard to find!

I sculpt and because of that I use a lot of dowels and prefer the cake drums, because I can drive the dowel down into the drum and not worry about it moving or falling apart.

Where can I find a cake drum and what is it?

A cake drum is a superthick cake board, usually 3-4 thicknesses of cardboard, then covered in foodsafe foil. Wilton sells them at Michaels, and they are also available at other online suppliers.
