I've started adding a pudding mix and an egg to the boxed cakes I make- and they are delish! JSo much more moist, and a lot more dense. Just like everyone said they would be! I am planning on making a strawberry cake next- but they don't make strawberry pudding...could I just throw in a container of strawberry yogurt?? Anyone try this?

If you visit the blog chocolateandzucchini.com and do a search in her desserts, you'll see she has a yogurt cake which gets rave reviews from everyone. I would check that out and see what sort of comments were left. I don't know if it's applicable to a frosted cake (hers is not frosted), but a lot of people have made it and a lot of people love it!

And, if you decide not to go this route, the Strawberry Cake From Scratch in the recipe section here is very good. Just use unsweetened berries instead of sweetened - other than that it's a clear, delicious recipe!

Good luck!

Yes, you can use yogurt. It makes the cake really moist. (Its about the same as using sour cream)
