I stumbled across this thread this morning and am in love with the glassy look of these flowers. Unfortunately the links in the thread are dead. Does anyone have anymore information on tips, tricks, or instructions?

I'll be stopping for gelatin on the way home from work today, I'm dying to try this one!

This is exactly like a craft kit I had when I was a little girl. It was called "dip a Flower." You shape the wire to the shape of the petals and leaves, dip them in the cans of liquid and let them dry, then assemble the flowers. I don't think I would encourage these to be eaten as that would require the person to put that wire in their mouths . But these are fantastic. I still have one of the flowers I made then and the instruction book for the kit. In time, they became brittle and crumbled and left only the wire. Wow, how funny is that. I will have to try this out with the jello.

That's what I was wondering , do you dip each petal individually then attach them all together? These are beautiful I love the bows also. How do you all price these?

I experimented a little with them a month or so ago. I bent wire for each petal individually, poked them in styrofoam to dry and wrapped them with floral tape to a stem. They were really pretty. Tricky to dip at first until you get the hang of it, but pretty easy.

Wanted to share the final result. They are not perfect but I think pretty good for a first try.

Now I have not read the entire thread so please don't flog me if this has been brought up already. The flowers you are showing are done on wires. The classes in Michigan are also gelatin flowers but they are done without wires (except for the wire down the center of the petal to wire the petals together.) Here is a link to that particular style of gelatin flowers done by the same gals who are teaching in Okemos. There are pix in that thread too of gelatin bows, flowers and butterflies so you can see what that style looks like. http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=630413&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0

BWB - No, it hasn't been brought up (I read the whole thread!) Please see the post above - the gelatin flowers on here are NOT the same ones that the directions are posted about in the HOW DO I section by justdi.

The ones in this thread are beautiful but they are not the same ones.!

See the previous post by BobWonderBuns - the link there is the one for the bows and flowers that do NOT have the wire frame on them.
