does anyone know the laws in Nevada for having a home bakery? I keep getting the run around with all the different departments in my county. Does any one know a direction they can point me in?

Try your county's health department, environmental services division (if they have one). I don't know the exact law, but I am pretty sure they will not license your home kitchen. My step-sister lives in Nevada and tried to start a business making chocolate truffles, and she was required to rent a commercial kitchen.

I used to be in NV (NLV) until a week ago (we just moved). The state doesn't 'allow' home bakeries or 'cottage business'. But while they don't allow them the rules aren't inforced unless there is a complaint. I spoke to 3 or 4 different caterers/bakers (I can't remember exactly now) who did it at home from their kitchen who had been doing it for years (one of them 18 years) and none of them have ever had problems. The one who'd been doing it the longest has even done numerous projects for the city and said she was very upfront about her legal status and they just paid her as an employee rather then as a vendor- but didn't care about her status. Anyway- after talking to them I didn't feel bad about not being licensed. Anyway- that's my two cents.
