I always thought Samantha on "Bewitched" had it pretty good--just wiggle the nose and everything looks perfect again! ![]()
I agree with everyone on the clean up part. I usually finish so late at night with the cake, I have to wake up to a sink full of dirty dishes, no fun. I love to see the finished product, and most of all seeing the recipient's face light up, One customer opened the door and screamed out loud "IT'S PERFECT!!!!!!" that was awesome! ![]()
I agree with you about everything except the cleaning up bit. That I'd like to have my own personal slave for
I know what you mean! I make a lot of cakes at home and my kitchen looks like a tornado went through it. Now - I also make cheesecakes and most of my bigger wedding cakes at a friend's restaurant, and there I get to just pass my dirties off to the dishwasher...hand over a dirty spoon, he hands me back a clean one. Hand over the huge dirty mixer bowl, he hands me back a clean mixer bowl. AND - I sometimes get the line cooks to help me carry stuff. It's lovely! ![]()
Plus the waitstaff all gather round when I'm working, too. It's kinda fun!
Now - Sugarbean - maybe you&I can work something out - I can make a mess in my kitchen and you can come clean it! ![]()
I love the creative part of cake decorating, the planning, even the shopping, but the cleaning, I can't say I take it that far. I can't stand having my hands in greasy frosting all of the time, it drives me crazy, and cleaning up the mess, I really need to get more organized, and clean as I go, but I think its great to be that positive about the whole process, I hope you rub off on me.
I hate cleaning up. BUT because I hate it so much, I am starting to work sooo much clearner -- which is a huge deal for me as I used to make a total wreck of the kitchen. Now DH jokes that the only evidence that I've been in there baking is the dish washer running and a cake in the fridge! ![]()
