So yesterday I made DH Red Velvet for the first time... I don't normally use DH, I tend to use Betty Crocker. Anyway I made the mix, did pudding, extra egg, sour cream... my normal...

Baked the cupcakes, they stayed smaller than normal, and most sunk... it was weird, they were thoroughly cooked, and they tasted AMAZING! (Ive never had red velvet before)... the frosting covered the sunken cupcakes... but Im wondering was it me? Or the DH mix? Or something else? Ive never had this issue with any cakes or cupcakes before...

Did you open the oven during baking causing a sudden shift in temperature? That is the only time I've had a DH recipe fall on me!

We don't have the Red Velvet DH cake mix where I am in Canada. Love to try it one day!

ive baked them before without adding the extra ingredients and not had any problems. but if i under bake them even just by a minute they will do this, also with other flavors. and shrink in diameter also. so i always bake my cupcakes a tad bit longer.

I've had this problem too, with DH and extender. They taste good, but I hate that they sink!!
