Does anyone make fondant figures with MMF? If so, what do you add, if anything, to help the figure(s) keep the shape you have formed?

Thanks!

I make them all the time. MMF dries really fast in my house, I don't know if it's because of the central AC. I don't add anything to it, but you do have to make sure it's not too warm when you're working with it, or it melts into a puddle. The attached figures were made with MMF. icon_smile.gif

Wow! Thank you so much for replying to me and attaching a picture. Your work is super! Today was the first time I ever tried making something from fondant (MMF). I made a bow last November but I mean making a figure. I am also working on some bees because I want to make a beehive cake this week. Appoximately how long does it take figures like yours to dry? I tried molding mine with adding the Gumtex but the MMF kept "slouching".

I am so excited to be on spring break because I can play.

When I make MMF bows (there are many in my pictures) those loops really dry overnight, but I like to give them 2 nights just to be safe. The figures also were pretty dry by the next day.

On occasion I've added gumtex for my bow loops, but I've never experienced the "slouching". Maybe your MMF needs more powdered sugar to give it body?

Good luck and have fun playing! thumbs_up.gif

I made figures with MMF...

Most times I haven't added anything and they are just fine...

Lately Ive added a little gumtex powder in it... it does dry a little faster....

I live in AZ so we have nice dry heat, very low humidity so I don't have to add the gumtex, MMF dries pretty fast for me.

They will last for a long time, just be sure to store them away from the light so the color doesn't fade. thumbs_up.gif
