Dehydrator For Gumpaste

On the cake challenges I have seen people usuing a dehydrator to speed up drying of their gumpaste

Has anyone done this ? should I use my dehydrator that has a heating element or borrow my mothers that just has a fan.

Or should I just try both and see ???

I finally returned hers after having it 2 years so I hate to borrow it again if I do not need to or she will give it too me for christmas LOL

I have yet to make anything that doesn't dry in a day. they need one for contests b/c of the time element. I can't see the need for one in most circumstances if you plan ahead.
