I have never used filling in my cakes. I have always used buttercream icing but I am interested in using filling in a bridal shower cake I am doing. Does anyone have any wonderful ideas?? Thanks in advance!!

Hi Stvsbabygirl, what kind of cake are you making for the shower.

If it's white cake, and too big to refrigerate - my choice would either a strawberry or raspberry filling (from the sleeves) or white chocolate ganache or buttercream.

Here's what the sleeved pastry fillings look like:

I really love lemon curd in yellow and white cakes. It is pretty simple to make also or you can purchase it at the grocery.
