Your favorite dairy free chocolate icing. I have a client this weekend whose children have severe dairy allergies. I have a butter bias and haven't made an icing with shortening in 20 years or more.

Thanks in advance...

Thanks, but I was really looking for a recipe, not a product.

I just use the plain ol' buttercreme with just crisco. I add 3/4 C cocoa, and 2T more water. It is my most requested frosting. In fact, I had a lady ask me if I would sell her just the frosting!

get a margarine with no milk in it. fleishmans unsalted is one, (the salted version has milk in it). i use bc dream from this site with the margarine all the time. tastes great. add 1 1/2 cup cocoa powder to the full recipe, or 3/4 cup to half the recipe, and as much liquid (water or soy milk) as needed to get the consistency you want. (oh, it calls for salted butter, just use the unsalted and add a pinch of salt to the mix)
