Does This Icing Need Refrigeration?

Cream Cheese Icing:

1 stick of unsalted butter
2 8oz packages of cream cheese
1 2lb pound of powdered sugar
1/2 cup of shortnening


I got this out of the rec. section. Does this need to be refrigerated? Tracy

I would say yes because of the cream cheese. Hopefully someone else knows for sure. Sorry I guess I'm not much help. icon_redface.gif

I think that recipe is pretty close to being considered shelf stable, if you don't add anything else and use the maximum amount of sugar.
