Does anyone out there have any great ideas for cake left over after leveling all my tops? It seems such a shame to throw it away all the time...

I have seen quite a few posts about making "cake balls". I think there are a few variations.

If you did a search in the recipe section you should find some recipes.

I have a few bags in the freezer right now.

I know I always throw my away after the kids have had a few pieces. I myself am not sure what to do with them. I'm pretty sure a lot of people here on CC know exactly what to do. Sorry couldn't help.

Cake balls/truffles/bites are awesome and are a great way to use up scraps. Addictive to eat though!!

My children usually eat most of them. I've put them in a plastic bowl with a tight lid and they can eat on them for a few days....because if they see me making a cake, they always want to eat it!!!

I don't usually need to level mine, but when I have left over scraps or mishaps I usually use it for crust on cheesecake. Just press it in the pan & pour the cheesecake mixture over it...works out really nice.

You can also make a trifle using pudding or fruit. I like to put a layer of cake...a layer of pudding...etc. and then do whipped topping for the very top. Easy to do and tastes great! icon_smile.gif

MMM...I think I might have to try those truffles/cake balls. The recipe looks yummy. If anyone has any more ideas, let 'em fly! Thanks all!
