Is there a website or directions on how to make snowflakes or letters out of royal icing somewhere here or elsewhere? Could someone post the link for me or direct me where to go to find this? Thanks so much!!!

Thanks so much! I dont think I'm gonna make snowflakes...I just wanted the idea. I have never done it before. I really wanna make letters....spell out a name for the top of a cake. I thought the same principles could apply....and yes, spring...yay!!! I am ready for sun!!!
Thanks junebuggey!

Do a search for royal icing run outs. It's a technique commonly used in britain

Are you familiar with the color flow method? You can do individual letters and let them sit to harden. An alternative method it Marshmallow flow in, but it must be done on the cake. Here is a link for the directions.

My favorite method is pattern transfer. I just choose the lettering and size I need using the computer and then print it backwards (iron on transfer). Cover sheet with waxed paper and then, using piping gel, trace over letters. Let set, turn it over, center on cake and place. Go over each letter with a brush and then lift the waxed paper straight off the cake. Over pipe the gel in anything you want. No more crooked lines or wonky letters!
