Welcome to CakeCentral! To me, fondant is not difficult, it's just a matter of practicing it (like everything else!). Are Wilton classes offered near you? Wilton III teaches you to cover a cake in fondant. There is also a neat video tutorial here:

Good luck! thumbs_up.gif

Welcome to CC!! icon_smile.gif

Once you try fondant, you will love working with it and how your cakes look when using it.
Like alot of others here, I began with the Wilton courses (mentioned by KellyM). The information, help and ideas here will inspire you to try many things!!

Practice is the best advice possible. Go buy a box of Wilton's to play around with.

i am new to decorating, but wanted to try fondant so i went ahead and did it. it wasn't that hard, just takes practice! but i actually prefer fondant to trying to smooth out bc. give it a go!

It's true, the best way to learn is to keep working with it. You'll be a pro in no time. icon_smile.gif
