I posted a couple of days ago about my first cake competition and I've just got back from the judging. I won! I got 'Gold' and 'Best in Class' in the Beginner Category. The competition was judged by Eddie Spence and Pam Wakefield from the British Sugarcraft Guild.

There were some really amazing cakes there (I took lots of pics - will post some later) and it was so exciting to take part!

My entry is the Easter cake in my pictures. Thanks to everyone who wished me luck on this - it paid off!

Kelly.... your winning was expected... after all that was such a lovely cake and you worked really hard .... especially for a lot of first that you did... after seeing your cake, that pretty basket has been on my mind ever since, not much for the lovely bunny but surely i envy the basket... its very pretty.

Thanks everyone! I know it was only the beginner category, but my feet haven't touched the ground since it happened! Unfortunately, they only hold this event every two years, so it'll be a while before I can enter again!
