I am beginning to plan my son's birthday party in May and he has let me know in advance that he wants a sponge bob cake (by the way he'll be turning 4). I am trying to make this cake one to remember and am unable to think of the perfect cake. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

There is one in the galleries..I don't remember who did it but it is Spongebob in a boat. It's adorable! If you do a search, maybe you can find it..if not, I believe I saved the photo.

here is the link for what I found under the gallery
http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=thumbnails&meta=search&type=full&search=sponge+bob+

if the link doesn't work then go to galleries ... search ... put in sponge bob and you'll find a whole bunch of ideas

I have a Bikini Bottom cake in my photos. I wanted to do something different from an actual Spongebob cake.

I just made a spongebob for a 4 year old and he loved it. I didn't post a picture because I forgot to take one. It was a 10" 2 layer square with spongebob's face on it--like some of the napkins out there. There are so many ideas on this site. I have used several. I'm sure he will love whatever you choose to do.

I would try to mold some characters out of fondant and make it look like he's under water. I guess kind of a under the sea (spongebobs neighborhood) spongebob cake. Have his friends there (squidworth, patrick, sandy, etc.....)

If you go to Nick Jr.com, they give you step by step video directions for making a Sponge Bob cake. Click on the "Food" folder, then "Character food", then "Sponge Bob". I've made it numerous times, it's easy to follow.

I've only done the character pan spongebob. I think that's in my photos too. That was awhile ago. I'm sure he'll love what ever you come up with.

could you do a sheet cake with a pineapple-shaped (his house) cake on it and then mold spongebob and some other characters out of something. I have no experience in molding anything, so someone else might have some suggestions on what to use.
