Hi y'all... I just need a little bit of "I wanna make a cake" venting! LOL I've been working at my regular job for 8 nights in a row and I see everyone on here posting pictures of their fabulous cakes and I wanna make one. I think I am having cake withdrawals LOL It's pretty bad when I come to work and I just want to go home and bake a cake!!! I feel like work is interferring with my cake decorating!!! Is that sick or what??? LOL
Oh well, after tomorrow night I will have some time off to bake. I can't wait!!!
Thanks for listening to me... Whew I feel a little better icon_biggrin.gif

I hear you! Darned work always takes up my decorating, sewing and gardening time! LOL!!! Doesn't it figure, when I am at my desk all day, all I want to do is my hobbies, but by the time I get home, too pooped to do anything! Maybe this weekend you can go on a baking binge, bake a few layers, freeze them for the week, and then make a few batches of icing to put aside so when the urge strikes, things are ready to go! Hmm, maybe should take my own advice! icon_lol.gif

Oh, I am totally with you guys!! I have been working until midnight everynight here. And I will be until next Tuesday. I am dying to make a cake. I haven't made on in at least a couple of months!!! And I even was able to find a Kitchenaid mixer!!! I haven't used it yet, but I am dying to get it whipping!!! I am wanting to bake something so bad, I know what you mean about the withdrawals!! I made some frosting up last week for no good reason. So I think that I will be baking on my one day off this Sunday!! Maybe I will do like Deb suggested. I am also glad to see that I am not the only one out there feeling this way!!

I agree with Susan, Mom and Tanya! I don't get to "bake and decorate a cake" the only time I do is if I do it is parts like Mom suggested. By the end of the day I am pooped. I have made some family birthday cakes the past few months but nothing fancy. I guess I have been just "practicing". I do need to make a batch of icing and practice on the cake board. Now I just bake for sweet tooth reasons. Okay I lied I did do cookies but that was a couple of weeks ago! And Eleets_treats and Alracntna lucky you! All together now...We will bake and decorate soon! Me, too!! I have to do a practice cake soon of this design I've been imagining. I think about it when I wake up in the middle of the night and everything. I have been so busy with work that I've been waiting for 2 weeks to get started on it!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Something that would cut down on your baking time is to invest in some dummies!!!!!!

And, you wouldn't have a lot of extra cake just lying around, too!!!!

I know how you all feel.... Right now i'm itching to do something to do with a cake. Maybe I will go play with my gum paste and see what kind of flowers i can get.
I work as a baker too, but its for a grocery store so all I pretty much get to bake is bread. They also revoked my cake writting privledges because I wasnt doing the writting to company specs. I used to use the piping gel to put little designs in the corners that coresponded with the age and edible images. Apparently its not allowed. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif
