Hi Everyone,
I work in a small bakery and we do not use royal icing. Has anyone ever made lillies using regular buttercream? Will they dry hard enough to place on cakes? I would like to make some to place on Easter cakes.

In my experience, this will not work. You could try the air-dried buttercream recipe. It is on this site somewhere, if you can't find it in the recipe section, search the forums. I know I've seen it. But regular buttercream will not dry hard enough.

i've never done lillies, but with other flowers i freeze them and then place them on the cake so that they get hard. give it a test run. you could also make some gumpaste lillies.
