I just came across another post from the lounge that made me stop and think a second.
The writer of the post was asking why the site had been moving so slow....pictures taking forever to download and upload, etc...
Anyway, a solution to the slow website problem would be greatly helped if everyone just donated a dollar or two every so often. You can even pay with paypal, so it's so easy. And really? What's a dollar or two here and there?
I just thought I'd get it out there....get people thinking about it.
Maybe it'll motivate some to donate and help with things around here!
I would send a donation, but I don't have a credit card or a pay pal account. Is there a way to send them a check through the mail?

Thanks, Iv'e been feeling the "tug" to do my part, but was not sure how. I'll get to that right away, and feel much better about myself.

that would help....and it would help if you bought what you could here at cc....
Would LOVE to do that, and have tried, but they are always out of stock on things.....
yes i know what you mean....maybe jackie and heath need to fix that...
Donations are a great idea (and I've done it), but the "slowness" of the website may have absolutely nothing to do with CC or it's servers--it's more likely YOUR computer or your provider.
Before we switched to DSL from dial-up, and even after getting a newer & faster laptop, I couldn't upload photos from home--I looked forward to a night in a hotel with free wireless just so I could update my photos on CC.
The dial-up connection at home just wasn't fast enough and the connection would time out. Now, photos load in seconds and I view pics on here rapid fire.
Another suggestion that helped me a few months back was to move all of my photos to the C drive (and out of My Pictures or Documents) so that they wouldn't have to be opened up (and I suppose technically running) every time I turned on the computer. That move also increased the speed at which all sites move for me.
HTH.

Maybe for some, it's their computer or server. For me, I can move quickly through another site on one window, while things move slow as molasses at the very same time in the window that has CC.
Although, lately, it hasn't been much of a problem. A few weeks ago, it was almost impossible to load....and many others were having the same problem back then.
Anyway....I'm glad it's not that way currently.
