Hi, Can someone please help me?? I need a really good scratch cake recipe so that I can sell. I have been using boxed cakes but I am worried that one day I will be confronted about it and I do not know what I will say. I know boxed cakes are not bad , I actually prefer them, but some people might think if they are paying all this money for a cake it should at least be "homemade". So if anyone has a Great recipe for birthday cakes and is willing to share it I will greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

There are some really good recipes on here that you should check out. One that I have personally tried is the Chocolate-Chocolate Cake contributed by kakes_by_kim and here's one for a white cake(although you do still use a mix) that I can't remember where I got it, probably on here I just wrote it down instead of printing it off and so I have no idea where I got it. Hope I don't offend anyone or that anyone doesn't think I am stealing their recipe. Anyway here it is:
White Cake
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 whole egg
3 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
1 white cake mix (I used Betty Crocker Super Moist Vanilla Cake)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
1. Melt white chocolate chips in microwave for about 40-60 seconds
Stir until smooth and set aside to cool.
2. Mix milk, cake mix, whole egg, egg whites, vanilla, and melted choc.
chips for 2-3 minutes. (start on low and work up to medium)
Start checking cake about 20 minutes into baking.
I loved this cake as did my whole family!

I just tried the "Classic yellow cake" From Sylvia Weinstock"s book "Sweet Celebrations: The art of Decorating Beautiful cakes. Boy was it good. You can type in "Classic yellow cake" on google and get the recipe. Hope this helps you.
