...that you would charge for this cake?
I have a co-worker ask me what I would charge for doing this and I would want to be really low, but not so low I am not making money. I can't figure it on my time because I go really slow, with breaks (I have a 3 and 4 yr old) and I would have to charge thousands of dollars if I figured it that way.
It feeds about 35. A 10" round, an 8" square. Gumpaste walls, and towers. The 3 dolls each cost about $5. Basic flavors and fillings.
Thanks so much, I know people generally don't like pricing questions and don't answer, but I would really appreciate the responses. ![]()

You said it feeds 35 - if you do $2 a slice that would be $70. However, you have either gumpaste or fondant on it - or a combination, from what I can tell - plus you have to figure in those little dolls which I think you said were $5 - was that $5 for all 3 or $5 each?
I think at the very very least you should charge $75. But I always underprice myself and it's a bad habit so maybe you should go for $80 or more! ![]()
Without sitting down and figuring out how much I would say that cake would serve, I can say that it should serve more than 35 people!
I am making a castle cake for a friend's daughter (8' and 6') rounds. The ingredients are running me around $20 (all BC). I found a set of 8 princess dolls on the Disney website (Disney Shopping) for $7.99.
My friend is paying me for ingredients. The dolls are part of her daughter's gift from me.
I would definitely charge about $80 with dolls. A Minimum of $60 without dolls.
