I was wanting to make a simple torted strawberry shortcake tonight for dessert. I didn't want to use my boxed cake mix up cause I use those to doctor up for decorating 
so I found this recipe for Strawberry Country Cake by Ina. OH MY GRAVY!!!! This recipe could be used also to do a carved cake, but it is so yummy! It has orange and lemon zest in it 4 yes 4 XTRA large eggs ...and so on....It's got this incredible flavor.....
I wanted to share this just in case you wanted to try a yellow cake with A LOT of flavor.

just looked at the recipe link - it's one of the ones that's posted for a 'limited time' so if you wanna copy without having to buy the book I'd print it off now. I've had that happen where I've bookmarked a recipe on foodtv.com only to find it removed.
