Do they take the place of dowels or do I need to use dowels in addition to these? I have a 12x12 and am putting a 9" round on top. The 9" is on a seperator plate and I bought the hidden pillars to sit the plate on. My first thought is they will serve as the dowels but I want to double check.
TIA
Melissa

Thanks Missy and Jan. I am hoping with doing my cake this way it will be straighter. I am the queen of whimsy cakes not becuase they were ment to be but it seems they are never quite straight.
