Hello everyone! I have been having a blast searching this site and reading all the posts and viewing all the amazing photos! However now I have a question, when you all do your character cakes how do you get the high sides? Do you use 1 1/2 cake mixes? I do mostly character cakes and never get the high sides that i have seen in all your photos. Thanks in advance!!
Depending on which pan I am using, I usually use the cake mix extender recipe. You get a sturdier cake and it makes about 1 1/2 batches of batter. You may not need quite that much batter, but one mix is not usually quite enough. Hope this helps.
