Tie-Dye Affect...

Has anyone done a tie-dye affect on a cake?? I would like to try something like this, but do not have an airbrush. I do have some of the spray colors or I could use diluted gel colors, but not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions???

My initial thought was using fondant, but then I went at the gallery, and typed in "tie dye" and it showed a cake where they used buttercream in different colors for the tie dye effect and it looks great!!!! You should check it out!

I used fondant take a look at my teddy bear cake.

Hey guys -

I just saw the most absolutely AMAZING tye dye cake on the Wilton forum website by Casey Cakes. I think she may post on Cake Central also, but just in case she hasn't posted the picture yet - go to the Wilton forum and I think it's under the Life Celebrations topic - she just posted it today. It's stunning and amazing and I'm so jealous that I would never think to do all those wonderful things to make such an amazing cake! Anyway, check it out - she's always extremely helpful and happy to answer any questions you have.
