icon_surprised.gif I am SHOCKED!! I did my FIRST FBCT and it came out GREAT. I am SO proud of this. I did however have some pieces that stuck to the wax paper so I wanted to know if I did something wrong. Did it stick because I didn't freeze it for long enough after I had frosted the bacK? I left it in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Other than that though, I think it came out wonderfully. I didn't even care what the borders of the cake looked like after seeing the transfer. (It was only for us anyways).SO whoever wrote the instructions on this site. THANKS !!! icon_biggrin.gif

It looks great! You did a lot of detail for the first try! I wasn't that brave. icon_wink.gif

I didn't have any problems with sticking but I kept mine in the freezer for about a week since I made it for St. Patrick's Day and didn't have the cake ready yet.

Maybe freeze it a bit longer next time. You can't tell, though, it came out great.

I do agree... you should keep it in the freezer for 1 - 1 1/2 hours-sometimes it just depends on the size of the fbct.

Be careful any longer than that...sometimes they end up tasting yucky because they get freezer burnt.

But, congratulations!!!! It sounds like you were very excited.

NOw, I'm going to check out your pic!!

I kept mine in an airtight ziplock freezer bag for about a week and it was totally fine. No weird taste at all.

I'd heard of wrapping them in plastic after they've frozen, projectqueen, I'm glad tohear of someone that has done it and it turned out fine.

That's great!!! Thanks for that input!

You did GREAT! As for the sticking....I've found waxed paper to be kind of porous and sticky sometimes, so I use plastic wrap, taped down smoothly over the design. I freeze for an hour to hour and a half. You've got the technique nailed, though! Congrats!
