I love Duff, but I also like Sugar Rush too- there's alot more focus on how the cakes are actually made- the cake challenges are pretty cool- ![]()
I have to say Duff and the Challenges! I haven't gotten a chance to see Sugar Rush yet, but did see a demo by him at the Mid-Atlantic Cake Show. I don't know of any other cake shows that are on.....

I love all the cake shows, but the Sugar Rush show actually shows you how it was made! So that one is my favorite and I always try to catch it when it is one. So far my favorite cakes on the show were...the stack of old books wedding cake and then a purse cake. Just amazing! Jen
I'm an Ace of Cakes fan myself.
As a matter of fact, last night I was watching it with my husband in bed and he looked at me and said "You need to take another class" ![]()
Now this is from the same man that told me in anger "Cakes are not important!!" ![]()
Why the change of heart? ![]()
It really doesn't matter because I told him that I would look into it this summer. I'm dying to take the blown sugar class or something similar.
I just hadn't done it becuase he started his own business and I devote what other little time i have left to his invoicing plus I work full time but he said I should look into a Saturday class so he can watch the kids as he isn't home most evenings until after 9:00 p.m.
I'm soooooooooooooo excited!! ![]()

Ace of Cakes is my favorite. And it's in downtown Baltimore that makes it even better, I grew up in Maryland!!!
Ace of Cakes - love, love, love this show.
Sugar Rush - they did one on cakes that was awesome! It's a show about all things sugar, so it's not always cake-related. I tape them just in case.
Food Network Challenges - usually involve a theme and several well known decorators compete for a $10,000 prize. No new ones, but Food Network replays them from time to time.
All these are on Food Network by the way.
I love ACE OF CAKES, SUGAR RUSH, AND DEFINITELY CAKE CHALLENGE ON FOOD NETWORK CHALLENGE!!!!!!
I wish they would put all cake shows all day for 24 hours on one channel. Would that be neat huh? I could sit here and watch cake shows all day. I just love it.! ![]()
I love all the ones everyone else mentioned. There is another show on Food Network. It comes on right after Sugar Rush in my neck of the woods. It's called Recipe for Success. They follow all kinds of food related business ventures as they get started. Recently they have had cake decorators, bakeries and cookie companies on. It's really interesting to see how people get started.
Another one I like on cable is The Knot Weddings, not a how to show, just beautiful cakes, flowers and table settings. But you can get inspiration. They also have interviews with well known cake designers, Ron Ben-Israel, Sylvia Weinstock, Elisa Strauss etc.
I love ace of cakes and the challenges... BUT did not know of Sugar Rush !
Did someone mention that it is on food network???
Also the only other show i have seen on tv is Bake,Decorate and Celebrate. It is sort a beginner level decorating class, but I still watch it. they have a website also that shows viewing times.
I think it is on WHYY. I live in South Jersey.
I lve watching them shows.

There used to be this GREAT show on an Argentinian channel that DirecTV used to have called "Tortas y pasteles" and it was strictly a how-to show, focused on decorating (not baking). I learned almost everytning I know there (mostly modeling gumpaste). I was really sad when they took the channel off. It was the equivalent to the DIY channel in America and also had about 4 or 5 more shows about baking. I wished food network had something like that!!!!!!
I've wanted to see the Knot Weddings but have never found it. Heared it had gorgeous cakes Has anyone seen " Sweet Dreams" I seen it once about 3 in the morning a woman pastry chef making cakes. I liked it but never found it again it was on food network.
I found a link to sweet dreams on food network...

I love Duff....but mostly because it's Duff. Although I do like watching the cake decorating process WHEN they decide to show it!
I also LOVE the Food Network challenges.
And.....a few weeks ago, I caught a very simple show called Bake Decorate Celebrate. It was very elementary stuff, but loved watching it....and eventually fell asleep watching it since it was a marathon of the show!
