Disco Themed Cake.........what To Do, What To Do.........
Decorating By golfgirl1227 Updated 2 Apr 2007 , 5:35am by JoanneK
I am making a cake for my aunt and uncle's 35th anniversary party that my cousins are throwing them. They are doing a 70's/disco theme. I am planning on doing a disco ball on the top (made from the sport ball pan), and am kind of lacking on ideas for the rest of the cake. They've told me to do whatever I want.
Any ideas? It needs to serve 100.
TIA!
What about records, platform shoes, etc.? You could do a fbct or make them out of fondant to add to the cake.
Here are a few cakes for inspiration.

Thanks! None of those cakes came up in my gallery search.
You could do one of the tiers ( I think you're doing that! so sorry if not) like the checkered floor in "Saturday Night Fever"!
I also like what sweetbaker said about little records and platform shoes..maybe mini fondant pieces!?
Good luck coming up with ideas! ![]()

I made this for a disco theme. Probably would do the top a little different next time

That's a great cake, MPC! How did you make the silhouette on the side, piped or painted?
Hmm..... I think I'm getting some thoughts now (it's about time, I haven't had any in a LONG time
)
the lady brought me an invitation with that image silhouette on it, I copied it, cut it out and used it as a template for my John Travolta guy. Google search night fever? was that the name of the movie?
Now that you have some ideas you can run with it.
